Blessed Are The Peacemakers

Back in 1780 John Adams expressed his concern of the republic that remains relevant today when he stated, “There is nothing I dread so much as the division of the republic into two great parties, each arranged under its leader, and concerting measures in opposition to each other. This, in my humble apprehension, is to be dreaded as the greatest political evil under our constitution.”

Fast forward to the 21st century, and we can see how this division has contributed to the considerable decrease in America's power on various fronts - geopolitically, economically, socially, morally, spiritually, and culturally.

Our political leaders are elected to work for the American people and strengthen and unify our nation. However, some politicians seem to have forgotten this fundamental fact and are instead implementing a "Divide and Conquer" strategy.

This strategy is based on causing conflict between Americans and preventing them from uniting against those in power. The result is the emergence of disorder and every evil practice, as stated in James 3:16 - “For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.”

Americans long for peace and prosperity, and God calls upon us to be peacemakers. Unfortunately, our politicians are implementing policies that perpetuate division and conflict, which ultimately prevent us from realizing our full potential as a nation. The goal of these policies is to prevent Americans from uniting against those in power.

"When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace" - these words from Jimi Hendrix still resonate today, just as they did more than 50 years ago. They serve as a powerful reminder that love and unity can conquer all obstacles.

As Americans, it's crucial that we strive towards making our nation a more peaceful place. True power is found in the strength of love and it's only through love and understanding that we can create a peaceful and prosperous nation for ourselves and future generations.
